Song form chart
Real Love is a song by Martin Garrix. It has an electronic pop sound and is fairly linear in form with small differences here and there.
Real Love starts with some muffled sounds including some vocal chops and piano chords. Then we enter the first verse which features Lloyiso as a vocalist who provides a happy summer vibe to the song as well as acoustic guitar and piano chords. There is also some wind chimes half way through.
The prechorus brings in a new bass line and a clap and enters the chorus with some strings and more prominent piano chords.
The chorus starts with a little string fill and strips away the elements and just leaves the vocals and piano chords which lead into the drop.
The drop then comes in with a super strong bassline with a kick and soon after, some hi-hats as well.
The post chorus puts the vocals back in with a new line and then the same one from the chorus.
The second verse starts with an acoustic guitar and adds strings and the same drums from the drop.
The second prechorus is basically exactly the same, and so is the second chorus other than the added harmonized vocal layer right before the drop kicks in.
The second drop has what's called a fake out where the same synth line plays, but with no bass or drums until measure two. This is a relatively short fake out as some can last for 2, 4, or even 8 or 16 measures.
The second drop and post chorus also features new adlibs from Lloyiso that make it slightly more engaging than the first drop.
There isn't an outro section after the second drop so instead, the song just ends at the end of the phrase. This is typical for radio friendly songs like this and gives the radio station a short happy vibe that they might want to play.
Even with the outro of the song being omitted, the song structure isn't anything too out of this world and the song just makes for a happy feel good track.
